Position: Plant Manager

We are seeking an experienced Plant Manager to oversee the daily operations, maintenance, and management of the hydropower facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, hands-on experience in hydropower plant operations, and leadership skills to manage on-site teams effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Plant Operations & Supervision

    • Ensure smooth and efficient functioning of the hydropower plant.

    • Monitor turbine, generator, and electrical systems for optimal performance.

    • Supervise shift operators and maintenance staff to maintain 24/7 operations.

  2. Maintenance & Repairs

    • Plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance of electro-mechanical equipment.

    • Troubleshoot electrical/mechanical faults and coordinate with technicians for timely repairs.

    • Ensure compliance with Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) and Department of Electricity Development (DoED) standards.

  3. Technical & Quality Control

    • Review engineering drawings, schematics, and manuals for maintenance activities.

    • Conduct inspections to ensure work aligns with design specifications and safety protocols.

    • Maintain detailed logs of maintenance, outages, and performance metrics.

  4. Team Leadership & Coordination

    • Lead a team of engineers, technicians, and support staff.

    • Conduct training sessions to enhance technical skills and safety awareness.

    • Liaise with head office, contractors, and government authorities for regulatory compliance.

  5. Safety & Compliance

    • Enforce strict adherence to Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) guidelines.

    • Conduct risk assessments and emergency response drills.

    • Ensure environmental regulations are followed to minimize ecological impact.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (recognized university).

  • Experience: Minimum 4 years in hydropower plant operations/maintenance (preferred).

  • Technical Skills:

    • Proficiency in SCADA systems, PLCs, and switchgear operations.

    • Knowledge of Nepal Grid Code and power evacuation systems.

    • Ability to interpret single-line diagrams (SLDs) and P&ID drawings.

  • Soft Skills:

    • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

    • Excellent communication in English & Nepali (report writing, meetings).
