We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Civil Engineer with expertise in construction documentation, project management, and retrofitting to join our team in Kathmandu.

Job Overview

As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring smooth project execution by managing technical documentation, cost control, and site supervision. You will work closely with clients, contractors, and consultants to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Construction Documentation & Financial Management

• Prepare and verify Running Bills, Final Bills, Variation Orders (VO), and Claims in compliance with contract terms.

• Analyze labor productivity, material consumption, and cost reconciliation to optimize project budgets.

• Manage subcontractor billing and ensure accurate measurement of work progress (BOQ, MOM).

• Handle escalation calculations due to price fluctuations in materials and labor.

2. Technical Design & Drawing Management

• Develop and review As-Built Drawings, Working Drawings, and Shop Drawings using AutoCAD.

• Ensure all designs comply with Nepalese/Indian construction codes and client specifications.

• Coordinate with architects and structural engineers to resolve design conflicts and site issues.

3. Project Planning & Site Supervision

• Create detailed project schedules (using MS Project/Excel) and monitor progress to avoid delays.

• Conduct site surveys, layout marking, and quality inspections to ensure adherence to plans.

• Oversee retrofitting and repair projects (experience preferred).

• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations on-site.

4. Stakeholder Coordination & Reporting

• Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and government authorities for approvals and compliance.

• Prepare daily/weekly progress reports and present updates to management.

• Resolve technical disputes related to materials, workmanship, or design changes.

Qualifications & Skills Required

Educational Background

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s preferred).

• Additional certifications in Project Management (PMP, PRINCE2) or AutoCAD will be an advantage.

Professional Experience

• Minimum 5 years in building construction, documentation, and project management.

• Hands-on experience in preparing bills, variation orders, claims, and cost analysis.

• Knowledge of retrofitting, waterproofing, or industrial construction (preferred).

Technical Skills

• AutoCAD, MS Project, MS Excel (Advanced), Primavera (optional).

• Strong understanding of Nepal Building Code (NBC), IS Codes, and FIDIC contracts.

• Ability to perform rate analysis, material reconciliation, and productivity tracking.

Soft Skills & Competencies

• Excellent communication in English, Nepali (written & spoken), and Hindi (spoken).

• Leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

• Time management and multitasking to handle multiple projects.

Additional Requirements

• Valid driver’s license (must be willing to travel to project sites).

• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work under pressure.
